What is Schemus?

Schemus is a software tool that runs within a customer's network extracting data from local directories, transforming the data and exporting it to an external Managed Service. By operating within the customer's network, the task of accessing local directories is simplified and security risks are minimized as no direct access to customer directories is required from outside the firewall.

Any mix of LDAP compatible directories and databases, or flat files, can be interrogated. Schemus provides powerful data filtering and transformation to ensure the data is presented to the external service in the correct format. Export operations are optimised by tracking changes and providing incremental updates.

Schemus operates either in an interactive mode through a graphical user interface or as a command line application suitable for invocation by scheduling services or other third-party applications. In the interactive mode, a wizard interface guides the user through the configuration steps to establish connection and extraction of data from source directories, with testing and verification of each step.

As a Java application, Schemus will operate on a wide range of platforms, including Windows, Linux, Solaris and Mac OS X
